Hi. I'm Rana.

The high-level stuff: I’ve been authoring blogs for over nineteen years. What began as an emotional outlet to share the hardships of raising a child with special-needs turned into a life-line of expression. No Longer A Yes Girl: Exchanging Perfectionism, People-Pleasing, and Fear for Restorative Mental Health is my first self-published book. I am already working on my next project Journey To Joy: A Dreamers Field-Guide to Living the Life You Imagine and am excited to share with other trauma survivors the lessons I have learned about picking up the pieces of shattered dreams and starting again.

The low-level stuff: I’m a wife and mom to two girls. My oldest is now 20 and is part of the special-needs transition program run through our public school system. Recently, we have partnered together in a dream of hers, making and selling handmade beaded bracelets. You can learn more about her and I’s business, BellaRa + Co., by visiting our online store. My youngest is a senior currently and dreaming of Broadway. She plans to pursue Musical Theatre, post graduation. My husband and I just celebrated our twenty third wedding anniversary which means we’ve weathered a lot of life together and continue, against the odds, to choose each other.

As for me, I am an Ennagram 4 which, simply put, means I live in an idealistic world where everything is beautiful and perfect; I dream too much, get bored easily and like to change my surroundings. Oh! And I cry a lot. I like adventure and excitement, but struggle to appreciate the mundaneness of everyday life. Basically, I’m a hot mess.

I’m a big lover of the great outdoors, especially if it means I get to shop for gear. I love gear! Because let’s be honest, looking good at what you’re doing is really the most important aspect of any activity. I can’t cook or keep a house to save my life (or at least I don’t like to!), but I do love crafting and decorating my home. I live just outside of Nashville, Tennessee in a quiet, quaint, suburban town with cute boutiques that speak to my creative soul.
